Product Overview
PE ground protection mats (also called ground protection boards or crane mats) are made from high-density polyethylene for temporary road access, ground protection during construction, events, and heavy equipment operations. Lightweight, reusable, and interlocking designs available.
Technical Details
Ground protection mats are manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or UHMWPE by compression molding or extrusion. The mats feature a textured non-slip surface pattern on both sides and optional interlocking edges for creating continuous access roads and platforms. HDPE mats offer the best balance of load capacity, weight, and cost. UHMWPE mats provide superior wear resistance for high-traffic applications. The mats are UV-stabilized for outdoor use and can be recycled at end of life. Load capacity depends on mat thickness and ground conditions; 20mm mats support up to 40 tons/m², 30mm mats up to 60 tons/m², and 50mm mats up to 80 tons/m².
