Product Overview
POM (Polyoxymethylene) sheet, also known as Acetal or Delrin, offers excellent dimensional stability, high stiffness, low friction, and good fatigue resistance. Ideal for precision mechanical parts requiring tight tolerances and consistent performance.
Technical Details
POM sheet is available in two grades: POM-H (homopolymer, trade name Delrin) and POM-C (copolymer). POM-H offers slightly higher mechanical properties and better fatigue resistance, while POM-C provides better chemical resistance, especially to strong acids, and better dimensional stability in humid environments. POM has the best dimensional stability of all engineering plastics, with very low and predictable moisture absorption (<0.2%). It machines extremely well, holding tight tolerances with excellent surface finish. POM is resistant to fuels, oils, and most organic solvents, but is attacked by strong acids and oxidizing agents. It is not recommended for prolonged UV exposure without UV stabilizer additives.

Choose POM-H (Delrin) for maximum mechanical properties and fatigue resistance. Choose POM-C for better chemical resistance to acids and better performance in humid environments. For food contact applications, specify FDA-compliant natural or white grade.
