Product Overview
HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) sheet is a versatile, cost-effective engineering plastic with excellent chemical resistance, good impact strength, and FDA compliance. Ideal for chemical tanks, marine applications, cutting boards, and construction applications.
Technical Details
HDPE sheet is produced by extrusion of high-density polyethylene resin with density 0.94–0.97 g/cm³. The high crystallinity gives HDPE good stiffness, chemical resistance, and a relatively high service temperature (up to 90°C continuous). HDPE can be easily welded using hot gas or extrusion welding techniques, making it suitable for fabricating tanks, vessels, and complex assemblies. UV-stabilized grades (with carbon black or UV stabilizer additives) are available for outdoor applications. HDPE is fully recyclable and complies with FDA, USDA, and NSF standards for food and potable water contact. It is resistant to most acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents, but is attacked by strong oxidizing acids and aromatic/chlorinated hydrocarbons.
