UHMWPE round rod stock for machining wear-resistant components. Same outstanding properties as UHMWPE sheet — exceptional wear resistance, impact strength, and self-lubrication — in rod form for turning and milling operations.
Technical Details
UHMWPE rods are produced by compression molding of UHMWPE powder in cylindrical molds, followed by sintering. The process results in rods with consistent properties throughout the cross-section. UHMWPE rods are used for machining wear-resistant components such as bushings, rollers, wear rings, and marine hardware. The material machines well on standard lathes and mills, though the soft, waxy nature requires sharp tools and appropriate cutting parameters. UHMWPE rods are available in natural white (FDA compliant), black (UV resistant), and blue (food industry identification) colors.
