Acrylic (PMMA / Plexiglass) sheet offers superior optical clarity (92% light transmission), excellent UV resistance, and good weatherability. Available in cast and extruded grades, clear and colored options for signage, display, and architectural applications.
Technical Details
Acrylic (PMMA) sheet is available in two production methods: cast and extruded. Cast acrylic is produced by polymerizing liquid MMA monomer between glass plates, resulting in higher molecular weight, better optical properties, better chemical resistance, and superior surface quality. Extruded acrylic is produced by extrusion of PMMA pellets, offering tighter thickness tolerances and lower cost. Cast acrylic is preferred for applications requiring optical clarity, chemical resistance, or thermoforming. Extruded acrylic is suitable for general display and signage applications. Acrylic has excellent UV resistance and weatherability, maintaining optical clarity and color stability over many years of outdoor exposure.
