Product Overview
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) sheet offers a good balance of rigidity, toughness, and surface quality. Easy to thermoform, machine, and bond. Widely used in automotive, electronics, and consumer product applications.
Technical Details
ABS sheet is produced by extrusion of ABS resin, a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. The three components contribute different properties: acrylonitrile provides chemical resistance and heat stability; butadiene provides toughness and impact resistance; styrene provides rigidity and processability. ABS offers an excellent balance of these properties at a moderate cost. It thermoforms easily at 150–180°C, making it suitable for vacuum forming and pressure forming of complex shapes. ABS can be bonded with solvent cement (MEK or ABS cement) or structural adhesives, and accepts paint, plating, and other surface finishes well.
